SAN PAULO (Reuters) -- A leader of a religious cult deep in Brazil's Amazon jungle said he killed a woman and ordered fathers to beat their children to death to fulfil God's wishes and wipe out ``demons'' infiltrating his village. Speaking from jail in a telephone interview, cult leader Francisco Bezerra de Morais said he and followers murdered a total of six people, including three children, sometimes using their fists, clubs and metal chains. ``The people who are here with me (in jail), they saw the same things I did... Those children were demons,'' Morais, 35, told Reuters.
